Ever been blindsided by a scene
you weren't ready for?
Does the Dog Die tells you exactly when triggering moments happen in movies and TV — so you can prepare or skip past them entirely. Some of those warnings are free for everyone. Your subscription helps unlock more.
Is there blood/gore?
What does the site actually do?
Search any movie or TV show and see a list of trigger warnings — things like animal death, suicide, sexual assault, jump scares, or dozens of other categories. The community votes yes or no on each one, so you know before you press play.
That part is free, always — no account needed. It's been built up over years by volunteers who care.
But yes/no answers only go so far. If you have PTSD, anxiety, or a specific trauma history, knowing a scene exists somewhere in a two-hour film isn't always enough. That's what Scene Alerts are for.
Scene Alerts
Know not just if it happens —
but exactly when, and how to skip it.
Scene Alerts are produced by trusted contributors who watch titles specifically to document trigger moments with care. Each one includes:
Warning before the scene starts
A description of what happens immediately before the trigger — so you know it's coming with time to prepare or step away.
Skip-to timestamp
An exact point to jump to with your remote — past the trigger, back into the film safely.
Written to inform, not to upset
Descriptions are drafted carefully — no graphic detail, no language that could retraumatize. You get what you need to know, nothing more.
Spoiler-conscious
Written to reveal as little of the surrounding story as possible. You find out about the moment — not the movie.
Some Scene Alerts are free for everyone.
Subscribers make more possible.
Certain categories — the ones most closely tied to trauma recovery and crisis — are permanently free for all visitors, no subscription needed. They exist because subscribers fund the contributors who produce them.
Every 1,000 subscribers unlocks one more free category, chosen by subscriber vote. The more people subscribe, the more we can give away.
