Yes but for those who can’t handle dog death (me included) this really doesn’t feel like a dog dying. It’s effectively a mutation, there’s also no whining or anything of that nature that is audibly triggering.

While we don't see the abandonment or the parent, the scenes include pictures of a happy family in the background, and the little girl explains what happened (zombie parent harmed child, child hid, zombie parent presumably moved on to hurt others)

Spoilers relating to the protagonist toward the end of the movie:
While it isn't a proper goodbye, there is a scene where he leaves a voicenote on his phone for his partner since they had an unfinished conversation, and he didn't have the phone signal to call her back.

A (zombified) woman is hit by a car, shot multiple times, and mutates horribly. Another woman is torn in half, but it happens off screen. Several other women are zombiefied, though we do not see the transformations off-screen, and the zombies die in variously gruesome ways, mostly due to falling/jumping off of buildings. None of this is for spectacle, however

So I saw this last night (9/17/26)
It's not, just a few moments or comical in any way. We timed the scene... It's like 3 to 5 minutes of this mess. Dude is trying to climb up the elevator shaft and there's this patient that seems kinda sentient but not and he's legit vomiting the entire time. There were so many moments where I had to peek to see if it was over and it wasn't. Ears plugged in a movie theater is a lil hard and I forgot my headphones.
Anyways, it's pretty gross and the sound is... Horrific. I was most certainly shaking afterwards. Maybe that means my trigger reaction is much more intense but I'd rather be honest. It's a lot. It goes on for a good while and the sounds coupled with the scene is... Disgusting. Brace yourself accordingly.
Also, I can confirm, it is the only vomit scene in the movie so, there's that.

Gunshots resulting in the sounds of squelching blood and viscera is heard throughout the movie. The sound of muscles tearing and flesh rending is also prominent. Bodies hitting the ground and exploding into viscera also happens when the main character runs through the street and zombies leap off the roofs of the building trying to get him.

A mutated child is shot in the head with a shotgun that completely destroys it, though we don't see it happen (the camera is on the main character's face when it happens) and we don't see the body afterward.
In the lab scene, a scientist's head - and his entire body - gets squished by a desk. A woman scientist's head is also grabbed, as I believe are a couple of other scientists' heads.

1) first flashing seen is the red/blue emergency vehicle lights which appear for quite a long time, the flashing image gets really intense when Bryan is next to or inside the car - following the title card they aren’t seen much again except in the distance of a few shots
2) a few moments where Bryan shoots the machine gun, really flashy in the sewer especially as it lights up the whole tunnel
3) finally, another long sequence towards the climax as the 24th floor of the hospital has constantly flashing/strobing overhead lights in the corridor (glimpsed beforehand from the elevator) - afterwards the lighting in the maternity ward isn’t as intense but there are plenty of flickering lightbulbs in view throughout the scene

I felt like this film was guilty of this. Technically she doesn’t die first, but she was the second person to die who wasn’t a zombie. Later on, the only scientist who gets directly killed without being absorbed into the monster is played by an actor of Black descent.

The main character is on the verge of a breakup for most of the movie, but he has a revelation that is healing for that arguement, though his partner does not get to hear this revelation herself.

One of the zombies is extremely bloated and large. It is not used as a joke, nor is it expected to be a real, functioning human. It is more a disguise for the infection.

No. However, the main character does say "It is your body and your choice" in response to his girlfriend asking what they should do with the baby, an answer she does not like. Having an abortion is briefly discussed, though not ridiculed.

The protagonist gets bit and later becomes mutated. I'm pretty sure everyone shown throughout the movie dies or get mutated at some point

It does have a somewhat open ending, it does leave you with a "what happens next" question, but it is not an extremely stressful cliffhanger type

Our character hits the first zombified woman with his car, and the windshield is cracked. This car does not fully crash, though.
When our main character is following behind the cop car, it suddenly swerves, hits the ditch, and flips. The cop dies.
At the farmhouse, the main character drives a truck into a gate, getting it stuck.
In the tunnel, several cars are shown crashed and an RV is wedged long-ways in the middle of the tunnel.
In the city, several cars are shown having crashed. When the zombies throw themselves off the roofs of the building, many fall on and destroy the cars lining the road.

The mutations are presented to be agonizing at least sometimes and some people are killed in painful ways but there's no people who are doing the torturing.

Near the end of the movie, a zombie vomits acid at the main character while he doesn't have a lot of space to get away from it. The acid does hit him and burn one shoulder but it damages his clothes more than him. You don't see his skin burn.
The acid zombie also is used as a weapon against another zombie. It is severely burned but the damage is shown from far away.
You'll know it's about to happen when he gets in the elevator.
