The American Human Association, the people that make the “no animals where harmed in the making of this production” slogan where on set for both seasons of production, to monitor the production and make sure no abuse or potential harm could come to animal actors, including dogs and mice. The fictional animals do die or get harmed at various points, but that is not the same as animal actors being harmed during the filming. Most other fantasy animals are CGI. The certification of the AHA appears in the credits with the reference number of AH 13539.
